The Publication

The Alekhni Journal

A peer-reviewed-style journal, written by high schoolers and reviewed by emerging scholars — with a real DOI assigned to every published piece.

The Journal is where Alekhni Writer students' work goes to be read. Articles are reviewed in a peer-review style process by current Master's and PhD students, then published with a DOI assigned — a citable, permanent trace of original research that exists before a student ever sets foot on a university campus.

Why it matters

A head start that's hard to fake

  • A real research trail. A DOI is permanent, citable, and entirely the student's own.
  • A stronger application. Published, peer-reviewed research sets an applicant apart well before admissions season.
  • Genuine university readiness. Students arrive already comfortable with the reading, writing, and revision habits university expects from day one.

Peer review

How a piece gets published

  1. Submission

A finished article moves from Alekhni Writer into the Journal's review queue.

  2. Review by graduate mentors

Current Master's and PhD students review the work in a peer-review style process.

  3. Revision

Feedback is returned, and the student revises with the same tracked-and-explained workflow from Writer.

  4. Publication & DOI

The finished piece is published in the Journal, with a DOI assigned to it permanently.
